Mid Town Barber Shop is the best barber and atmosphere in town. Dave is extremely talented, personable, and a man’s man. I started taking my 14 year old son to Dave and now he won’t go anywhere else.
Dave is a great barber and the atmosphere of his shop is second to none. Dave has been cutting my hair for at least five years and always does a great job. Dave's shop is the only one where I get my hair washed and the haircut finishes with a soothing back massage. To top it all, Dave is great to talk to.
After my former barber passed away I did a Google search for barbershops in Lincoln and discovered Midtown Barbers. Following my first visit several months ago I told my friends I had found the best barber in Lincoln! Dave is the first barber I've been to in over 40 years who provides a hair wash and neck shave as part of his service. I'm now getting the best haircut I've gotten in years. It's easy to make appointments and it's nice to not have to wait to get in. The shop is always clean, tastefully decorated, great music playing and usually an old western playing silently on the tv! Dave is a great conversationalist with many similar interests as mine. I highly recommend Midtown Barbers to all my friends!

I don’t just go there for a hair cut, he does it all from a beard trim to a complete shave. The atmosphere and conversation are another reason I love going to Mid town Barber shop!
I am 70, which means I have been going to barbers for a long time. And I have never encountered a barber better than Dave. Going into the shop is like entering a time machine. His shop takes me back to the 1950s. It has a family friendly environment (no girly magazines, etc.), and you will not get a better haircut or shave anywhere. His barbering service is unquestionably the best value in town. Plus Dave is just a great guy and fun to talk with. And the TV is always tuned to shows from the 50s and 60s like Gunsmoke and other westerns that people my age remember with fondness. You will not regret scheduling a barber appointment with Dave!

Dave is consistent every time always makes sure you leave happy. As a several year client of Dave’s, I had the honor today of getting the first haircut after the Barber Shops we’re reopened. The shop is neat and clean as a whistle. Absolute comfort.

I have been with Dave since 2012 having just moved to Lincoln and found him be the best barber I can remember. I'm quite picky about my hairstyl, but Dave always made me look my best despite what he had to work with. Just got back from my first appointment. I was a bit apprehensive at first, as the barbershop is in the back out of someone's home, but the inside was awesome! I felt very at home, and the haircut and beard trim were top notch. Absolutely knew what he was doing!
Booking was easy. Vibe is great. Chad was awesome to talk to. Best haircut I’ve had. Also had the grey blending done and loving it. I’m definitely a loyal customer now.
WOW! From setting up and appointment with Dave via text message to the haircut I received. I couldn't have asked for better. I will admit, I'm very picky about my haircuts and it isn't the easiest cut for barbers. Dave took excellent care of me and didn't disappoint. True old-school man that cuts hair the right way! While I was in school in Lincoln, I found Dave through his website. Coming from small town Nebraska, I longed for the small town barbershop feel. You'll find it with Dave. His barbershop is everything that is American. Musky cologne, warm towels, and a 100 year-old chair that's seen the depression, 2 World Wars, and Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. Dave doesn't only he deliver sensational haircuts, he creates an environment that rivals a Clint Eastwood film. Of all the hidden gems in Lincoln, this is #1.
The reason I come to Dave is he is a perfectionist. He takes his time to make sure my hair meets his high standards. Dave is very friendly and easy to talk to. He always ends his haircuts with a relaxing back and shoulder massage. He only charges $15 for all of this! In addition, you can usually make an appointment on the same day you want to come in. I've been to a few other barbers in Lincoln before I met Dave, and he is by far the best. If you want a great experience plus a top notch haircut, come to Midtown Barber Shop.

I just went to Midtown Barber for the first time and I was very pleased with the experience. Dave made me feel comfortable and was very easy to talk to. I had decided to get a shave also and was very glad I did. Everything from the oils and lotions and shave cream made me feel like I was getting a spa treatment. I left feeling refreshed and very pleased that I had made the appointment. If you haven't had a razor shave you own it to yourself. Dave is the man to come see. The haircut I received was also one of the best I have gotten. I would highly recommend Dave and Midtown Barber to anyone.

Words can't explain how good this barber is.....Dave is spot on.....the straight razor shaves are amazing....best I have ever had!!!!! There isnt a better barber in town!!!! And can always spark up a good conversation while enjoying your shave and cut.
I will start by saying I've never had the pleasure of a straight razor shave.... Until now, Dave was recommended to me by a co-worker so I thought I would give it a shot. So glad I did.. From the hot towels, warm shave lotion, close shave like no other , this is the place to go. Left there knowing I will go back again and again.. Just got done with my first haircut and shave from Dave and I was really impressed. Will definitely be going back. For three years in Lincoln I have been unhappy with my haircuts. I started to think about when I have had good haircuts, what's been the reason why? I realized it was because I was going to barbers. Well that is definitely what Dave is. He was friendly while I was in the chair and halfway through the shave I basically fell asleep. So glad I found him online and took a chance. Walked out paying $30 dollars for a haircut and shave. A few more dollars than the chains in Lincoln, but it was relaxing, I had no wait, and the conversation was better.

This guy knows customer service to a T. Dave takes his time and makes sure you're 100% happy with your haircut. When I moved to Lincoln I was so worried I was going to have to put up with a chain barber shop, getting someone new and even inexperienced every time. But then I discovered Midtown Barber Shop! The warm shaving cream and straight edge shave feels amazing; and you even get the genuine conversation to help you feel relaxed! Seriously cannot be happier with this find! Best barber in Lincoln! He'll put you to sleep while he's clipping your hair, that's how good it feels. And if that doesn't do it, the shoulder and neck massage machine he uses on you afterward will make you want another haircut right away. Never really cared who cut my hair because it seemed like every time they would do something wrong and I would hate the style anyways. To tell you the truth I only knew and came here to Midtown Barber Shop because I'm a family friend. First time I came here I walked in and was apply to get a haircut right away and not only a haircut but a hot shave and a massage! I have never felt so relaxed while getting a haircut. I know every time I go their I don't have to worry about if it's going to turn out good or what I want it to look like because he knows what you want! Amazing older style feel and I haven't went any where else since!
Full disclosure: I have a pony tail that goes halfway down my back and a full beard. Why would I need a barber? I finally got tired of trimming my own beard and added it to my list of things for which I would pay someone any amount for me not to have to do it. That list includes plumbing and automotive repair. I know how, I just don't like it. So when I found Dave, who is in my neighborhood thus parking is easy and the trip is short, I was tickled and went for a good someone-else-do-it beard trim. To my shock, surprise and delight, that came with a hot shave. Never in my life had I experienced the utter joy of the hot towel, hot lather, the straight razor, and the balms applied thereafter. I am getting on and as such have hair sprouting from the oddest places. WHen I visit Dave he cleans up all of the escaped hair, makes my beard look intentional, and then turns my face into a Teflon smooth surface the likes of which I have not known since I was born. Here good grooming becomes a treat. Treat yourself.
It's great to still be able to get an old fashion hair-cut, including the neat shave around the ears, neck and sideburns. Appreciate your flexible scheduling, especial since I always seem to call at the last minute... Oh and those shoulder massages are a great way to end a hair-cut.
As you lay back in the 1913 barbers chair and listen to the soft music in the background, life melts away. The hot lather and towel are applied. The technician steps up and brings the steel to your cheek. Life just got little better.
If you have not experienced a hot towel shave from Dave Kreifels, my friend you are missing out. He takes his time and is very careful. The towels are HOT!!! (He will ask is you wanted it HOT!!!) The Razor sharp. The barbers' skill? Well, there is no doubt this this man love's his craft.
Dave's shop is Old School cool. The kind of place you walk in, sit down and you feel at home. No hair perm smell. No nail polish remover burning your eyes. Just old music on the radio, the football game muted on the TV and a professional waiting to help you look your best.
I've never gotten a straight edge shave before, and I was terrified by the concept of letting somebody else hold a razor to my neck. But I left Dave's shop in the most relaxed state of my life. He told me that he doesn't focus on numbers and trying to get as many customers through the door as possible. Rather, Dave cares for his customers in a way that is difficult to find in modern businesses. I'd recommend a straight edge shave to any man that is looking to relax.

I actually live on the same street as Dave. I'm only 18 years old, and I had been getting the same haircut for years at the cheapy parlors. I got tired of it and decided to do something different. Needless to say, it was convenient just having Dave a few doors away, but it was my first time going there. Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed. I would recommend Dave to anyone, and I plan to visit him again.
I have been looking for a new barber for 15 years. NOT ANYMORE! Dave gave me a great haircut. At Midtown quality and service is not sacraficed. Haircuts include a straight razor shave on the neck and behind ears and a shoulder massage. Where else do you get that? Dave told me if I got a shave I would leave feeling like a new man and boy did I.
